I’m Misty. I’m a writer of fiction and commentary, most often of contemporary romance that goes to some deliciously dark places, usually involving a great deal of kink. It is often – though not always – explicit. I do like to explore the erotic in my romance.
More generally, my writing encompasses: romance, sex positive feminism, BDSM, kink of all kinds, erotica and porn, and genre across the board.
Misty is also, perhaps obviously, a pseudonym. This is primarily for writing-business purposes: it helps with marketing to publish my romance and erotica writing under a separate name to my other writing, which is far less romantic and quite a lot darker, generally falling into the literary speculative fiction and outright horror camps. It’s also because my writing as Misty is where I can experiment with self-publishing and other alternative publishing routes, without bothering the trade publishers of my other work.
My books can be found via the usual online retailers and my stories are in some excellent anthologies that I’m very proud to be included within.
As for myself, I’m bisexual, female, cis-gendered, submissive, polyamorous, and (like everyone), ultimately far more than the labels with which I identify.
This is my world. All are welcome, none are excluded. There will be no kink shaming, but there must be respect. Respect for others, for ourselves, for boundaries and safe words, for the tastes and desires of others which may not be our own, for the world, and for humanity in all its wonderful variation.
And there is no such thing as normal.
